We dine together!

A group of students at Boca High School in Boca Raton, Florida, are members of PROPEL (People Reaching Out to Provide Education and Leadership). Last fall, they were challenged to develop a program that would promote inclusion at their school. The students formed a club called "We Dine Together," and at lunch time each school day, they fan out across the open courtyard making friends with anyone who is eating alone.

One club member, Denis Estimon (shown above) immigrated from Haiti in first grade. He remembers how it felt to have no friends at lunch time. Now he invites students eating along to join the We Dine Together Club for pizza on Wednesday afternoons. Hundreds of friendships have been made, and by Thanksgiving, the club began getting national recognition. Steve Hartman, a correspondent for CBS Sunday Morning, came to the school with a photographer and spent two days filming and talking to students.
